Know he is a very sick person, and I hope nothing happened to your children if you knew him, and allowed him within contact, I am a maother is cares and wanting you all too be carefull.

i like to know why cant a offender have a girlfriendboyfriend if theey have already payed for there time and wht they had done and the people say that as long as the person is over the age it would be ok and there both 35 yrs old plz tell me some thing and let me knoe i dont know thsi guy that u are talkin about but he sould rot in in jail and burn in hell ...
You can have a Boyfriend/Girlfriend, just as long as they are the age that is not cond... a minor. People whom Offend, and Preditors even have that now the ages I am not too sure about on that one, but hopefully nopt minors. (I Prey) But no if someones telling you that you can not date, it's not true, or a least not in Florida. L.O.L. HEX
anon 1/11: I don't see why you can't have a boyfriend girlfriend if you are both of legal age.?? Not sure I understand your problem. UNLESS the courts forbid something because of prior behavior. You will have to try to be more specific....thats my opinion, anyway.
IF ANYONE KNOWS A J. D*, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN THAT HAS BEEN AROUND HIM, BE AWARE THAT HE IS IN PRISION FOR MOLESTING MY SON, WHOM WAS ALMOST 10 WHEN HE TOLD. HE IS IN PRISION NOW, BUT HONESTLY NOT LONG ENOUGH FOR WHAT HE DID TO MY SON. IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION IN REFF. TO THIS PERVERT, PLEASE WITE ON HERE, AND I WILL LEAVE MY E-MAIL ADDRESS THEN FOR YOU TO CONTACT ME. HEXGIRL

First off the Sex Offender Registry is just for show! It doesn't tell you who will offend. It just tells you who has offended. And if you look at the statistics you will find that only about 10% or less are strangers. Its the people in your own families and homes that you should watch not strangers. And out of the offenders only about 2% are true predators and will re offend. The tier systems do little more than lablel a person. There is no real assessment of those men so the tier system will never show you who is more prone to reoffend. Most Sex Offenders go back to prison for failure to register not due to a new crime. And the residency restrictions do little more than limit where a sex offender can live. If a true predator is going to offend they don't care if they are even in the same city of state that they live in. They will reoffend no matter where they live. So the laws currently in place in all states that use the residency restriction do little more than calm the nerves of the public. The only true help that I see so far is the fact that some states require counseling for the offenders. Its help that they need not residency restrictions.

I cannot believe that in the state of Virginia you cannot go to no website to view any photos of sex offenders living in your area or get no information on them unless you pay for it. What kind of state is this? They commited the crime they should be posted everywhere for everyone to see FREE OF CHARGE!

There is a site. I just visited it when I found out that someone recently moved into an apartment across the street from me is a convicted offender. I assume I can post this link because the link above is wrong. I will be sending the correct information along to the people in charge here as well...

Can You marry a sex offender if you have a child who is a minor?
Posted by mike (not registered) on Jul 12, 2009 04:41 PM
Is the sex offender on any kind of supervision that doesn't allow them to be around a child? If not I don't think theres a problem.
Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Jul 12, 2009 11:12 PM
You can marry a sex offender if you have a minor. If he is on probation or parole, he may not be able to be around the minor. That is according to the rules of probation or parole. But if they are not on parole or probation, there is no rule stating that you can't marry an offender if you have a minor. They just have to register.

What's the most hurtful as the new spouse of an RSO is that, my husband committed his 'offense' at 18 with a girl he was dating, with in highscool. He bears the same label as all the creeps that hurt people, he is the sweetest man and used to volunteer as a camp counselor and help people all the time. after his 18 months of incarceration, he works very hard at a job that underpays him. He endures the ridicule of coworkers, neighbors and complete strangers - solely because he was in love with a girl who 'loved' him back. I know it cuts him very deeply - but he endures it stoically. There should be a different kind of registry for people like him.

I have a pre-teen girl who thinks that NOTHING can happen to her and that I am over protective. I want to show her that predators are EVERYWHERE even in our small town in VA. but I cannot find a site that lists sex offenders. Where should I start? I know for a fact that there are SEVERAL in our small town. any suggestions?

Why are some sex offenders allowed to appeal to the courts to get their names removed from the sex offender registry? How is indecent liberities to a minor compared to some of the other sex offenses (i.e. rape, molestation, etc.)? Why are all of these offenses grouped together?

My uncle lives in the Evans Ridge Apts immediate area. He sexually abused me when I was 5,6,7 years old. I know that he still has these tendancies. His new wife has I think a 13 yr old that has been showing signs of withdrawal to her mother, and the older sister whom was 17 told me that he would like to act like he was playing (tickling) with her to touch her in wrong places. He is a hispanic male, athletic built, 5'5" hight, and coers his actions by being obsesive with his religion (baptist). No one knows in my family but my mother (though I don't think she knows the extent of the abuse) and my brothers. I don't want to break my grandmother heart litteraly. Main reason why I haven't spoken out. I tried once and got yelled out for causing trouble, lying, making up stories, that I was sick, etc (this was at 9 yrs of age). I feel bad because I could stop him but being quiet makes me an acomplice. This has ruined my life. I started cutting at a young age, have been depressed for as long as I know, can't have a normal relationship with men. Don't know how sex really feels. If your child was sexually abused, take very good care of him. Don't let him end up like me. I never knew why I was like this inside. I hate it even when my kids touch me. My husbands end up giving up on me because I don't want them to touch me and I never want to have intercourse. I finaly realized that this even early on in my life caused such destruction in my brain that it has fused with my way of being, my behavior, my thoughts... It's not obvious because it was long ago but the underlying effect makes huge ripples in the future. I'm so depressed that the only reason why I've never cut deeper was because of my children. I love them so much, I over protect them, I always ask questions, and we have open conversations. They know what happened to me so they are more aware of how cruel even family members can be. Going on my 2nd divorce now. And I actually am looking foward to being alone for the rest of my life. I feel I can only be happy this way (of course with my beautiful kids with me, just no men). I am 31 yrs old, laid off, mother of 4. And I want to avaoid any one falling victim to him again. He has a thing for hair. He has a ocd that makes him "play" with any females head hair if its the type that he likes. He twirls it with his fingers.

My husband of 7 years was convicted of carnal knowledge over 15 years ago. He never tried to hide nothing from the law. The courts offered a plea deal that had no jail time because he amitted to this and it was the only thing he has ever been in trouble before(even still today). He's a good man married and has joint cusody of his youngest daughter and his oldest moved in with him full time. He is truley sorry for what happened, it was not forced he was unaware of her age until to late. Now his health is failing. Is there anything he can do to get his rights back? When he took the plea he was not classed with the rapist and murders now that Virginia changed the law he is. What can he do.

I am a parent of a wonderful son. At the age of 13 my son was raped by a 24 year old woman and she got pregnant. She now resides in Ringgold Va with my granddaughter and is dragging my son all over in search for child support. If you live in the area please watch your children carefully. This woman has no business having children and I an to fight to get custody of my granddaughter.
Did you know?
While drugs and alcohol are often involved in sexual assaults, drugs and alcohol do not cause sexual offenses to occur. Rather, drug and alcohol use may be a disinhibitor for the offender, while being under the influence may increase a potential victim's vulnerability.
