I really think the law should be changed for ones that have learned from something that happened so long ago.They just want to move on with thier lives and put it behind them.I think the ones that have done it more than once should have to register for life that's the way it should.

I'm sorry but I don't think you can find one sex offender that has not committed the crime more than ONE TIME. I was a victim of two when I was in sixth grade. To this day,I have no idea where they are and what they are doing. Not knowing where they are or what they are doing makes me sick. So when you become a victim yourself, then see if you can say that. Anyone who is a victim would know more about it than someone who wasn't.

I'd like to know what their offense was that put them on the registry. I have young teenage children and I want to keep them safe from people that want to harm them. It would be helpful to me as a parent and grandparent to know specifically what their offense is.

You know as sadd as it sounds your right. They are useing the wrong type of Offenders (per say) to use as examples for their own personal gane, and letting the true Offenders, and Preditors go, or have a short sentence searved in prision for molesting a child. I used to think as all Offenders as bad, but you can not, alot of the ones I have read on these sights, and this one are teenagers who have sex, with both willing, and one of the parents get madd, and then the poor teenager is labled for life, which is wrong. I think there should be a age that the Laws, and the State not to minshone the Judges look at too not have a minor (per say again) have to be reg... or honestly they both should be reg... why is it fair the boy is labled, and the girl was not, and was just as willing? How can they con... that a Offender? I really wish your son luck, and his family as well, and yourself, its hard on the parents as well as the child, noone wants too see their son, or daughter hurting that is a good parent. As someone who molested for 3 and half years of my life by my uncle, I really do doubt that these sick people really do any kind of help or anything in prison, I do really do not think that after punishing these people for the Hannis things they have done to children that they should just be set free in society again. They do not reform and those who have said that are not telling us the truth. Being a pedophile is not just something you can flip a switch on in these peoples heads. Its an illness that cannot be cured. Studies have shown us this. I really believe that these sick people should have one of three options... First is imprisonment for set time and then being castrated. the second option is Death because that is what they have done to their victims. They have killed a part of them inside. or third and not the most cost effective, prison for their crimes and then be locked in a mental house for the rest of their lives so they do not harm anyone else again.

Some may ask why I am so livid on this subject 12 years after my uncles conviction, well its really simple. I have a nephew that is going be turning 12 by the time my uncle is released. I was 12 when my uncle started molesting me, so were all the other nephews he touched. I want my uncle to stay in prison forever, not for me but for my nephew.

jcubmsp: Understand your emotion. However, these people DO get out of prison and that is why we must develop ways to prevent additional abuse (IMO). Many of the new laws will not allow release if the individual is still dangerous to others. At least in some states this is happening. The registry is useless in protecting your 12 yr. old. Only YOU can do this with a watchful eye. Some say: "Abuse leads to Abuse". Make sure you don't pass it along in the form of drug abuse, physical abuse, alcohol abuse etc. and...Good luck with it.

my fiance was accused of molesting my niece - she didn't tell anyone until 9 years later - shortly after she discovered my son got a new pinball machine , along with a few new toys. We had not invited her over for a long time, and i posted a video of our son playing with his new toys. she has access to her father's facebook page and she saw this. She told her counselor a day after the video was posted that my fiance did something to her in great detail - only problem was she would have been 4 years old at the time ( she is now 10 )- her own father had watches pornography in front of his children, specifically looking for a certain sexual act. - the sexual act she is saying happened to her in great detail, sounds just like something you would see in a porn movie. she has also said things about other people to get them in trouble and to gain attention multiple times. now no one will say this to the prosecution because they are afraid of getting the father in trouble! personally, when a little girl screams " daddy, daddy, don't ___ me like you did last night " just because she didn't get candy bar at checkout... you be the judge.
