I am appalled that a convicted sex offender, child pornographer, who served in prison, is not listed on the Mississippi Sex Offender Registry. Michael B. Holleman is allowed to live in a community and it is not informed.

Get over it, Elizabeth!

I have found for the past 3 months, that the Mississippi Sex Offenders Registry website is unsearchable. I have tried on a PC as well as my Macintosh...this is frightening.

Why cant we view sex offenders free instead of always having to money down all the time. Thats so sad.

Posted by Hexgirl on May 30, 2007 10:28 PM

You can view Sex Offenders for Free, just go to Clerck of Courts in your area, pull up public records and go from there, it is supposed to be free in all the States. If that does not work contact your local Police Dept, and they should tell you what to do, or where to go. Tammy (HEXGIRL)

Why doesn't David Fears from amory, mississippi appear on this registry. he should after all he did to the woman he kidnapped, raped and attempted to killll.

Before you judge any one on these list maybe you should find out what happened. It could be contempt prior to investigation.

I find the list of offenders to be incomplete on this web site. I know of TWO offenders, one spent time in Parchman and neither are on this list. WHY NOT?????

There is NO excuse for the state of Mississippi to keep these names off this list.

M. Holleman, an attorney, was convicted went to prison, and it is horrendous that his father, B. Holleman was able to petition signatures from fellow attorneys to allow M. to regain ability to practice law. Child pornography is one of the worst forms of sex offeses. He is not listed on the sexual offenders list and his clients are unaware of who is representing them.

So you think that a sex offender registry will help you are protect your children from harm. What a joke. First of all, a substantial number of the people on the list were falsely accused. They never were and never will be a threat to anybody. The rest of them are EX sex offenders. They have paid the penalty for whatever they did. There is NO REASON to think that 99.999% of them will EVER do ANYTHING that get them reincarcerated. That includes speeding and staying too long at a parking meters. ALL valid studies show this fact. You can verify this statement by going to the US Dept of Justice website and reading the facts for yourself. But, even if these people did pose a threat, what good does it do to know where they live? After all, they aren't prisoners in their homes. "IF" one of them decides to reoffend, he (or she) is free to go anywhere he wants to go to accomplish his goal. Furthermore, he is MORE likely to go somewhere else than to commit an offense right in his own neighborhood. In my opinion, the safest place to be is right next door! People - don't waste your time and effort obsessing over ex sex-offenders! The chances of you or your children ever being the victim of a sexual offense is absolutely miniscule compared to the threat of injury or death from a drunk (or high) driver or from the crossfire of a gang/drug war! So why aren't you screaming for a registry of drunk drivers, gang lords and dope peddlars?

I think every body needs to get a life > Go to chruch and let God deal with these pepole , I have a friend that got accused of a sexual crime . Every body jumps to the wrong thing about some of these pepole. He moved here and every body just start spreading lies about him. He didn:t even do the crime pepole thinks he did. And this person is not a threat to any one. God Help The Ones Who Do not Have A Life.

You are completely misinformed and you are spouting your opinion as if it is fact. Actually, and IN FACT, sex offenders are much more likely to reoffend than other criminals. I understand that some may have been falsely accused, but it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that "a substantial number", as you say, were. Please don't encourage people to be less than vigilante when it comes to protecting their children. If you want to live next door to a registered sex offender, more power to you. I just pray you don't have children. I, on the other hand, will stay as far away as possible. And, as for your comment that the chances of your child being a victim of a sexual offense are "miniscule", once again I'll say that you are spouting your OPINION as if it were fact. And once again you are wrong. Knowledge is power. The more information you can gather, the more protected you will be.

Posted by Oldtimer on Apr 23, 2008 09:27 PM

facts? Think about it angel. Do drunk drivers get arrested more than once? Maine had a drunk truck driver kill a carload of people and the driver had over thirty prior convictions! Do drug dealers get arrested more than once? I understood that sex offenders are noted as the least likely of All criminals to repeat the offense. However, (IMO) more than one offense by a sexual offender is one too many.

who ever wrote their comment on what i said some people are so afraid of their shadow its unreal . you do need to keep watch over your children> but at the same time do not be scared of every boby. my husband is pulling 13 years for something he done. he will never live what he done down, but beleve me he is paying for what he did , he did not rape nobody, but he has to watch his back all the time. people are paying for their crimes. No one needs to fool with achild this i agree.I do pray for these kids every nite.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on May 13, 2008 11:20 PM

Some sex offenders are not a threat. They are human and make bad choices. Not all sex offenders have aggressively attacked their so-called "victim." It was a mutual agreement. I feel like sex offenders should be ranked according to their crime. Those with low rank should be able to live a normal life without all the strict guidelines.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on May 14, 2008 12:21 PM

My husband is a registered sex offender for something he did not do. He was not even around this person when this took place. People, not all are guilty but some are. If it is a child no evidence has to be given for a person to be convicted of a sex crime. He is not the only man that this has happened too. I have a friend whose grand child did this to him, a man that can not walk hardly and then she told the authorities oh i lied because i was mad at him for not letting me watch a porn movie. She did this to several men. So please don't think all registered offenders did these crimes. I know alot did but I know the system doesn't always work out right. How do you touch someone when you are not even there with them? Can you answer that for me ?

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on May 29, 2008 03:07 AM

Why do all people automatically assume that a sex offender is a child predator? Why does everyone automatically assume the worst when someone is labeled a sex offender? Do you realize how easy it is for someone to be accused of sexual assault when their supposed girlfriend gets mad at them and lies about an assault? Do you realize the implications that can happen from say, a simple college prank like us older people used to do in our younger days?

I agree with the person that said there should be catagories. Just because someone is labeled a sex offender does NOT mean they are a child predator. If their case involved children, then it should be stated loudly. If their case involved something simple, for example, a guy accidentally brushed a woman's breasts, and she went ballistic, now the guy has a charge, now he has a label, and is screwed for the rest of his life. Not all sex offenders involved children, and those that didn't, shouldn't have to suffer with the automatic assumption that they are. But those that did, God help them.

I think you are absolutely right. I think that people judge before they know the facts. They hear a little bit of information and run a log way with it , not knowing the whole of it. Like I said in my previous posts.. the law knows a lot more information on a persons criminal history than the general public. There is a reason why the public is only allowed so much information. Everything is misconstrued. So.. information is limited too keep this from happening. The general public can not pull up a criminal history on a person and read all the facts of the case. Law enforcement can. I understand why people are so angry about the sex offender laws, but from what I am reading in these posts, a lot of people posting are so angry, they dont do their research and really figure out what the law is.

For instance: people are talking about youthful offenders. You can plead to be a youthful offender one time. You have to have committed the crime when you were between the age of 18-21. There are NO restrictions to where they can live or work. The only thing they have to do is come in to register, for 10 years. Everything is confidential. There are no fliers sent out about them in the neighborhood and they are not required to tell anyone they work for about their situation. They are not posted on any websites, etc. No one can come in and request information on them either. So if they were to go get a criminal background check for a job, that information would not be available. After 10 years, the offender is free, sans they commit another sex crime.

I think i can help a little bit with some of the questions people have. Each state is different though, so it would be wise to catch up on laws in your own state.

If you know that someone in your community is a CONVICTED sex offender but is not on the registry, please report it to your local police or sheriff's department. Law enforcement can track down that person's order of conviction and send it to the Department of Public Safety to get the ball rolling on registration. Failure to Register as a Sex Offender is a felony in Mississippi. Please do not think law enforcement takes it lightly.

Those weren't lies about Adam P. He was living in Richton & Laurel Mississippi without turning in where he was living. He has gotten in trouble for not keeping his info updated. He does have a girlfriend with a small child and he did get in trouble for raping kids.

Check his profile on here and see where he is at now. In jail in Jones County which is right up the road from Perry County.

The local Sheriff's Department is the one that keeps track of sex offenders in each county. Usually there is one person dedicated to making sure the offender stays compliant under their guidlines. I agree there should be guidlines that state if the person assaulted a child or an adult. There is no charge to look up these people on the web-site in Mississippi. You may simply type in mississipppi sex offender list and it will pull up the Mississippi Department of Public Safety web sit. You must hit the disclaimer and you can type in a last name and hit any county or state in Mississippi and the person's name will come up and show what county they are registered in. If you know this person is not registered and should be you may contact the Department of Public Safety your self or notify you local Sheriff's Department. I do agree that people need to know who is living by them. In a court of law the jury usually decides if there is enough evidence to convict or the person pleas in court. Why would somebody plea if they didn't commit the crime unless they felt the jury had enough evidence to convict? Open you eyes most sex offenders if convicted of hurting a child will reoffend if given the opportunity. Remember they don't usually get caught the first time.

Posted by Oldtimer on Aug 19, 2008 08:44 PM

Then if you feel you should know who is living near you, I suggest you speak to your legislature and have them develop a registry of killers, robbers and drug king pins. After all, you want to be safe, don't you?

I have to say I know someone who had sex with a 14 yrd old girl when he was 20, if i remember correctly. however, she told him she was 18. how many ppl are actually going to card their sexual parteners? He's stil la sex-offender, because she lied on him in court. Things like that do happen. However, not all, nor nearly all....are innocent. no where near half. in a lot of cases, it's the wrong person, because he/she fits a description, or sounds like the person who is guilty. But, that doesn't happen with every signle sex offender. I feel we need to know who they are, and what they've done. Also, I do feel the same way for drug dealers (drug lords), drunk drivers, etc. It may not make the world too much safer, but atleast we'd know who to watch ourselves and our children around.

Posted by Oldtimer on Aug 26, 2008 08:54 PM

MLH: I'm glad I didn't grow up in YOUR world. You can't worry about all of this. People actually let their kids play outside until dark. Walk alone in the park...woods. There were as many offenders/killers/etc. back when I was a kid....no difference. I guess the parents were not as scared of the world as they are now. I think Oprah has created fear in our minds. Most of the "missing kids" were found to be taken by one of the parents in a divorce. Get on with life and stop worrying about all of this.

Name: BRANDIE MICHELLE POWERS

Date of Photo: 8/18/2008

Race: White

Sex: Female

Date of Birth: 1/18/1984

Height: 4 ft 10 inches

Weight: 120 lbs

Eye Color: Blue

Hair Color: Brown

Address:

5912 HURLEY WADE ROAD

MOSS POINT, MS 39562

Itawamba County MS 10/11/2005 Sexual battery (Section 97-3-95)

THIS WOMAN HAS CHILDREN! SHE IS CONVICTED OF HAVEING SEX WITH A BOY OF 13 YEARS OLD AND A GIRL OF 14!!

What happens when a sex offender has kids of their own? Should the children be taken? She wants to post things about her ex husband on here, yet she says nothing about herself! She is accused of the SAME thing.

Maybe people should think about what REALLY happend. Maybe people should STOP obcessing over Sex offenders so much.

Alot of the sex offenders in MS really did do what they were accused of.. But SOME of them.. Like Brandie and her ex husband are VICTEMS of a family who has done the same thing to people in their OWN family. Its LIES.

I could go to the police right now, tell them a name and say I was raped.. and then WHAMO!! An innocent person is in jail, and then marked with a stupid green card and a horrible lable.

Wrong is wrong and this state needs to revamp the system when it comes to sex offenders.

I have a good friend who was 16 years old when he was accused of stat. rape. The girl was 13. SHE WAS WILLING and IN LOVE with the boy. Mom and dad finds out that their lil girl has been doing things and then all of a sudden the boy is screwed for the rest of his life.

Its just wrong people.

Im sure Mrs. Brandie Powers would feel really bad if the state came and took the kids she has because she is a sex offender, when she didnt even do anything wrong. So maybe she needs to leave her ex alone and let him try to live his life without all the BS spread on sites like this about him.

And for the record (And you can ask Mr. Simpson, Brandie) Adam WAS registered in Perry county. Thats why he was reinstated because Jackson messed up his paper work. Stuff like that happens all the time. Right now he is in jail because he was not able to work and couldnt pay all of his fine on time. You know nothing about him anymore so STOP even thinking about him. Point Blank.

You will be happy to know a Divorce from you is comeing, Brandie. So leave it at that. :)

Everyone has pointed out the good and bad equalities of having this list. Yes, some people do make mistakes in thier lifes, and some people don't ever get caught. But those that do deserve what happenes to them and more. I should know, I go to that list once amonth just to make sure I know where he's at. Unless your a victim, u will never know what it feels like. I always what to know, I live with that fear everyday. And to me it doesn't matter if it was a woman, man, child, teen, what sex or age the victim is they are still victims and always will be for the rest of our lives. Yes! there are some who lie and say their victims and wrongly accuse someone, but there are more that never tell. Ones that never say a word. I agree no one has the right to judge, but we all do it. We all judge. I think unless your a true victim, u will never know just how important that list is. And if you know a sex offender that isn't registered report them. Take a few minutes of of your busy life to go to your local police sation and ask why is this person not registerd. And no, NO two crimes are the same, but if an adult has sex with a child any form of sex, touching, whatever. Who is the adult? For years as a child I never said a word, I lose everything it torn my family apart. I was told I would ever beable to have children of my own. Unless your a victim you will never know what that fear is like. Afarid to be alone, afraid to let someone touch you, the nights are to worst. I need to know where he's at! I deserve that!

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Sep 13, 2008 06:55 AM

Posting a drug dealer database would be stupid because it would be like having a yellow pages for people to go buy drugs.

They should have one for robbers and people who steal and kill. That makes since.

How is a 14 year old girl not a kid?

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Oct 07, 2008 03:19 PM

If some one commited and was convicted of a crime before Megan's law came into effect that could be why they are not listed on this site. If you know of some one in this case, You can contact your state dept of registered sex offenders and give them their name and information and they will look into it and contact them and get them on the list. I did this myself for some one that committed a crime over 20 years ago. He is now registered.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Oct 15, 2008 01:29 AM

i think you all are wrong i don't think you shoud forgive sex offenders they are all sick minded people. i was looking for sex offenders who live around my area because i don't wanna be around them i hate them. i my self was a victim of sexual abuse for several years so i disagree with you all. none of them should be forgivin. no excuse for them and if you defend them then you are as sick mided as them. good bye

i am one who checks the list 2 to 3 times a month i had a chid that was a victum and the person that did it to her has severed time for the some thing and is not on here i just wont to know why is it becouse someone has payed for his name not to show and by the way he has 2 counts awaiting court.

Posted by Oldtimer on Oct 20, 2008 09:14 AM

to awaiting court Oct 19: And just think of the thousands of offenders not on the list because they "plea" not to register after they serve for their crime. The highest recidivism is withing the first 3 yrs after release. (IMO)

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Oct 20, 2008 05:56 PM

to oldtimer how can they ple not to register when it is a state law that they have to register.

Posted by Oldtimer on Oct 22, 2008 09:42 AM

Plea not to register: In my state, it happens a lot. Apparently, the lawyer and the DA make a deal "plea" which is presented to the court. Most states require the judge to state how 10/20/life registration will be assigned as part of the sentence. I guess they just leave that out when the deal is cut not to register and/or they assign a different "name" for the crime, so that it does not fall under the present registration law. I get this information from a friend/judge. For example: they can charge the person with a (sex) crime that does not require registration rather than the real crime that does require registration.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Oct 22, 2008 10:03 PM

to oldtimer thank you now i know and that may have been the case in alabama.i will just have to wait and see how these to court cases come out.

if it is a concern of yours that two young teens having sex can result in one or BOTH being charged as a sex offender, you should do as I have done: warn your children whether they be male or female that you WILL charge the other with statutory rape and they will be marked!

That sure gave them something to think about.

I have read all these comments. I am surprised at a lot of them. Here is what is so outrageous! How many are catholics? How many times have you read in the paper or news - Vatican and Catholic church settles out of court millions of dollars to hundreds of victims of sexual molestation done by the "men of God" in their black robes and hidden by the church and moved around! Have any of you gone to the said churches and demanded the priest be turned over to the police, charged and sent to prison so all the choir boys could be safe? No, because the church is wealthy and they are safe. Their are hundreds of thousands of victims and yet, you the public are not afraid? How about the law putting all of us on lists? Sex crimes against children are heanous! But, the register lists everyone! No matter what! Read about the Wilson boy in Georgia! Fifteen year old irls showing up at the party and giving out oral sex to six football players 18 yrs old. Were they raped? No, but the DA charged them with an indecent act since the girls touched THEM! Some went to prison for years and one fought it - was aquitted of rape! He was sent to prison because he let her do her thing - she was 15!~ A high court overtuned it and the da wants to appeal it and the poor boy - a top student, schlorship waiting is still in prison with terrible criminals

Write your congressman - demand the law be changed to put only the child sex rapist on this list so you know which are the horrible preditors and not kids who have consenual sex branded for life!

By the way, it is about money! The federal govenment pays each state for each one on the list ! Read the commission reports - if they relax the law or make the list what it should be - a list of the true preditors that would reduce this hideaous list and give you the true ones to be afraid of - then the state loses millions of federal funds.

Educate yourself because in this country you are losing your freedom in a lot of ways and you may one day be on a list for life.

If you have been raped, or your child has been sexually abused, you don't just "get over it"! The sex offender in Miss. that raped me at knifepoint spent years in Parchman, then got out and raped three more times. He had also raped two females before me. So, you who say that these people have paid the price just don't get it. There is a COMPULSION to sexually abuse. It doesn't just go away because the person is locked up for a while. Shut up if you don't know what you are talking about.

Posted by Anon (not registered) on Jan 24, 2009 03:14 PM

I worked with the Dept. of Corrections in MS and I want all of you to know that MDOC has no intentions of listening to your complaints and no concern for your safety. Sex Offenders are given MORE rights than you as a crime free citizen. Yeah they may have to register, but if they don't they are slapped on the hand with an arrest and only a few days in jail and then released into society again. I saw this day in and day out. If you are a citizen of MS your voice needs to be heard by Gov. H. Barbour. But don't expect him to do much. They have officers commenting crimes and remain employed by this agency. I have documentation of sex offenders at large and breaking into the same victims home and abusing her again and nothing was done by MDOC. It's happening folks, right in front of your faces and we pay as citizens as well as our children.

Posted by annom (not registered) on Jan 26, 2009 05:03 PM

The problem we have , is tha tthe offenders are able to hide in a community, and people tend to forget about them. Why dont the local papers print pictures and addresses of these animals at least once a month, so we dont forget who they are, and what they look like. Or better yet, just keep them in jail for life, so we dont have to worry about them again.

"annom": please, get a life. Not everyone wants to focus on offenders all the time. There needs to also be a little parental responsibility, too. (IMO)

Actually A sex offender will go else where to offend because he/she knows that everyone knows their face in their neighbor hood. And by the way I am married to a registered sex offender. You can't even go pee out side with out getting a sex offender charge so how do you feel about that? If you want facts go to http://hrw.org/reports/2007/us0907/1.htm or go to http://costitutionalfights.wordpress.com. To know what the other person is saying about a sex offender not reoffending again is the truth cause I do my research and so should the rest of you that believe a sex offender will reoffend again. Cause I know that most of them wont and so does the state. So before you run off at the mouth about stuff you know nothing about do your research first then make a comment. To the person sticking up for sex offenders, I give you props for it cause I know that what you are saying is the truth because of the research I have done. Thank you....

3 OFFICERS AT JONES COUNTY ADULT DETENTION CENTER HAVE BEEN FIRED FOR PLACING MALE INMATES IN A CELL WITH A FEMALE!!!

The news and the papers didn't tell you what really went on.. They didn't say how that by the time someone finally went to check on the girl who had been SCREAMING for hours.. The men had raped her repeatedly. No.. Covered it up by makeing a deal with the girl.. she got charges dropped on her.. THE FEMALE OFFICER WHO PLACED MALE INMATES INTO THE CELL WITH A FEMALE SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH A SEX CRIME!! ALL OF THE OFFICERS ON DUTY THAT NIGHT SHOULD BE SEX OFFENDERS FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES!

There is NO EXCUSE for this crap to be happening. That girl should not of been raped and she should not of been scared into saying she was not assaulted. .. The law system is crooked in Jones County. So Crooked that the officers arresting drug dealers are useing the drugs they conviscate.

PIGS.

I think that all known registered sex offenders should be monitored on a regular basis at home, work, school, and in any public place. I think this will lessen the chance of them repeating any act of sexual misconduct; for if they know someone is watching them and if they do anything out of order, they will be arrested. It will cause them to stop and think before doing something and think they can get away with it.

I don't think that all sex offenders are totally horrible people. I believe some are truly sorry for what they did and carry shame and guilt about what they did and may or maynot ever commit a crime again. However, some are just messed up people who don't care about anything but satisfying their sexual urges and need professional help. I think they all need help from family, counselors, police and friends in staying away from any situation that will lead them to even think of any sexual misconduct (conduct that's against the law or against another person's will.

On the case in which he bound, beat, raped, sodomized, bound & strangled Jean Elizabeth Gillies in Oxford,Mx. in 1986 and is now eligible for parole. HE SHOULD ROT IN PRISON FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. No doubt he will kill again. What kind of justice is this for her family???

I am a Christian and a mother, I do not like to judge because God said he will judge you in the same measure that you have judged your fellow man. Knowing that an offender is in your area can be helpful to some degree, but it can also be hurtful to some degree for all parties involved. The reason I say that is because I myself know some one who is registered a violent sex offender because the victim was less than 18 years old and he was more than 5 years older than she. Now the father of the victim knew that the two were dating and consented to the relationship, at the same time was unaware of the fact that his daughter had lied telling the offender that she was 18. Making the relationship legal being at the time he was only 21. Her mother was not living with the family and was in a custody battle with the father when she found out they were dating, she never asked any questions, she immediately filed charges against him. This is how he came to know that the girl lied about her age. The girl admitted to lying about her age, the father admitted that he knew about the relationship and how old the offender was but never bothered to say anything to him, he didn't see a problem with it. This was over ten years ago, about 2 months ago, the father and victim showed up at his place of work and apologized for the whole situation, the victim said her lying about her age is what was at the root of the entire issue and that if she could take it back that she would.

Take the time to love the people in our own lives and maybe there wouldn't be so many hurting people out their hurting other people. After all we are all a product of our past, we just don't have to be prisoners of it. Unfortunately sex offenders whether they are in prison or out, guilty or not, they will always be held prisoners of that charge!! They will be held prisoner by the minds and mouths of society for the rest of their life. Just remember before you judge someone, that the Bible says that God will judge you with the same measure that you judged your fellow man. And by the way forgiveness isn't for the person that offended you, it is for you.

It is my opinion that the majority of people who freak out about sex offenders are a bunch of people who have nothing better to do than pick over other peoples lives. I am a sex offender. I was charged with statutory rape when I was 19. I am much older now married and have children. I served my time and am off parole, but that doesn't stop people from discriminating against me for my past. My children suffer from my past as well. Do you really think that that is fair? There are those people out there who shun my daughter, who wont let there children play with her just because of my past. This is bull crap pure and simple. When will it end? There are a few good people who look beyond my past and allow me the chance to live my life. Here is a simple fact and you can look up the studies for yourself. A sex offender has a recidivism rate of 6.5%, A drug offender has a recidivism rate of 20.75%, Domestic Violence offenders have a recidivism rate of 13%. for those offenders who seek treatment for there problems the rate decreases 2% across the board. Sex offenders are the least likely of all criminals to re offend, but we are the ones who are punished the most. By putting our names, addresses, work place, and schools on a list you the general public have placed a target on our heads and those of our families. My house has already been vandalized once. My windows smashed by would be vigilantes who wanted to drive me away. During this attack my wife and daughter were hurt. The consequences of putting us on this list can be detrimental to others to innocent people who had nothing to do with my crime, my daughter who wasn't even alive when my crime was committed. When will the violence end? When will a person be allowed to atone fully for there crimes. I have been denied housing solely because of being on this list. It is a form of racism whether you want to admit it or not. Our crimes are heinous, I regret my past every day. But what I regret more is the fact that others, my family, have to be punished for my past.

some of these comments are stuiped as hell especially the one that says youare saver living next door to an offender and also most never reoffend there is a high percentage of inmates who are released from prison just to commit another crime and put back in prison. if i had a sex offender living next to me and my family i sure as heck would want to know.

To everyone who feel like we're wrong for disliking sex offender. If you have kids you're wrong for trusting them. True enough some people may got convicted for something they feel they didn't do, but who knows we wasn't there? You don't know what people life is like after being sexual assualted. I was molested from the age 3 to the age 7 and it's a nightmare for me. Even after that I was attacked at a pool hall by 5 guys, my mom boyfriend watched me get dressed threw my room door that wouldn't lock, my neighbor tried to have sex with me, my cousin tried to kidnap and rape me, and a guy punched me in my face until I gave in to give him oral sex. Until you feel my pain don't open you mouth about why we dislike sex offenders. I have a little girl and even thou i feel as if her father wouldn't hurt her if I leave her alone with him I come home and examine her everytime. My life will never be the same.

Not all offenders are bad. some got into trouble and have to register for just being with someone who did the crime. So they ahve to pay the price as well. Noone should judge anyone in this world but they still do. I think people should mind their own business when it comes to others especially when noone is being hurt.

Posted by Hex on May 14, 2009 07:51 PM

This is for the one above me. I think if we were all to mind our own situations things would not get done by Law. Yes, the way the State, and the Law handles things are not right on harsher punishments for all types of things done wrong, but to ignore these things, and look away, which is what would happen, would not help no-one esp.. these children, and adults whom are being hurt. That is the problem really, narrow minded people like your feelings, are the reason the worlds the way it is today, heads turned, and people wrongly accused sentenced, and the real as$holes, are not given the time they should in jail, as they should. A LOT OF YALL HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT SEX OFFENDERS. I HAVE A SON WAS MOLESTED BY HIS UNCLE THAT WAS A YEAR AGO AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO HIM YET. MY SON IS STILL IN THERAPY FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM. SO UNLESS YOU HAD IT DONE TO SOMEONE IN YOUR YOU HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO FEEL ABOUT SEX OFFENDERS. THEY ARE SICK AND SHOULD STAY IN JAIL NO KID DESERVES TO BE MOLESTED. I KNOW A SEX OFFENDER WHO RAPED 3 OF HIS NEICES AND IS OUT OF JAIL AND LIVING ACROSS THE STREET FROM AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WERE IS THE JUSTICE SYSTEM TO KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE SROM HARM

Posted by Oldtimer on May 18, 2009 05:51 PM

may17,anon: I don't know if I believe a word you say. Your son is in therapy as a result of being molested? I'm sure the police would react if this is so. They have no reason not to. (IMHO) As for the former offender that is living across from the school, that depends on your state "residency Laws". Check them out. Sounds like a poor placement by the probation department. What are you doing about this besides promoting fear of offenders by using this internet? Might I suggest you focus your attention on something else, and let the guy/gal who did "their time" reestablish themselves as a productive citizen?

The people that say forgive and forget are the same idiots that would have sent their kids to Micheal Jackson's house for the weekend. Sexual offenders should be casterated and tatooed "SEX OFFENDER" across the forehead. They changed a life forever so they should be reminded of that forever!

How long does a convicted sex offender stay on the registry?

Posted by LovelessAngel on Mar 16, 2010 08:45 PM

My comment is to the ones that think that everyone should mine their own business. Has never had this happen to them or anyone they care about from a one time victim I would do anything to keep this from happening to my son. No one should tell lies on others or falsely accuse them of this horrendous crime.

Posted by Victim (not registered) on Mar 29, 2010 10:57 PM

I just searched the sex offender report for my area. I had no problem with the search & it was free to everyone. I would like to encourage everyone to peruse this information. It will help us to protect our neighbors & ourselves. NO ONE, I repeat NO ONE has a right to molest another person, be it a child or an adult. To those of you who choose to defend the molester, "You are as guilty as they are when they choose to molest again!"
