How long does a sex offender have to register in the State of Louisiana

Posted by ofender (not registered) on Jul 24, 2011 01:38 PM

I am an ofender who pled guilty and I was not the cost to defend yourself and the penalties are terrible my life is totaly upside down now and will never be the same I would have no problem with this if I was guilty but I'm not I'd like to know why we don't have the same justice and harsh punishment for ladys that lie and the man found inocent many ladys are using this for an easy tool in there favor when it comes to divorce and the DA jumps on it like it was honey.

I heard on the news this morning that a man is out on bond for rape. Now, I know someone that is serving a life sentence for that and did not get a fair trial, or had no proof that it happened. He was also not able to get out on a bond when he was arrested. I think that this is not fair. State laws are the law and should not be for whoever. I also read in the paper a couple of months ago that a convicted rapist was set to get out of Angola Prison after serving 18 years. Now come on, what is wrong?

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Aug 30, 2010 09:12 PM

I honestly think that it is ridiculous that people like my husband got charged with a sex charge and it happened ten years ago and this year he would have been off paper. But now because of the new law, he has to register an extra 5 years! He has not been in anymore trouble, so I do not see why people have to continue to register when they were 18 and had a girl friend that was 15 or 16 and now they have to deal with this for what seems like forever!!!

I think that it is very important that sex offenders are listed daily to update the human population that there are some sick people in this world and to warn them to protect their kids and families.

there are so many uncaptured sex offenders in louisiana...so many women go unheard...why our society goes on in such a way is a mystery to me

I don't know who you are that commented that you took responsibility for your crime, that is great that oyou did and you were able to raise your daughters without any problems. My concern is that I have a son that is getting ready to get out for failure to register 1st offense. CPS has told me that if I let him come and live in my home, they will remove my 10 yr old daughter. He was convinted of Carnel Knowledge of a Juivilie she was 16 yrs old. How did you manage to not have your daughters taken away from you?

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Dec 31, 2009 02:35 AM

I agree that if a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year old boy have consensual sex, that doesn't exactly constitute a crime. But, there should be some restrictions on that. Like having to be within maybe four years of each other's ages and having parental consent. Also, I get a strong undercurrent of people blaming the "young girls" in these scenarios. Yes, they're more sexual than we were at that age, but they're still kids. What do you really expect them to do? That's why we, as adults, should be making these decisions for them. I know I don't want my daughter to be pregnant at 16.

If your getting caught for having sex with minors you could resolve these things if you approach it the right way and show your a good person.

Posted by Louisiana mother (not registered) on Oct 11, 2009 03:51 PM

I agree with the comments concerning those who had mutual sex and the girl was under 17 and the boy over 18. When I got married my husband was 7 years older than me. If I would have met him when I was 16 and he was 23, he could have been arrested and marked as a sexual offender. In 32 out of 52 states the consensual age is 16. Tell me a 16 year that even though she knows it's against the law and her parents told her to stop seeing him, that she wouldn't listen to them and do whatever she wanted. Oh, but then when he breaks up with her and is crying about it, her parents call the cops and have him arrested. That is so unjust. So unfair. We have to unite and stop this agregious law. The parishes are only out to make the money. And to have a record of enforcing sexual predator laws. But when your a child at 20 or 21 or 22 or whatever yourself, having sex with a grown up girl at 15 or 16 or whatever, the criminal system needs to recognize that those aren't the people that should be behind bars. Those are kids who just have sex. Jesus! In his days they had sex at 13 with 20 year olds. Children were sent off to have marriages as soon as possible. Lets all rally and change this stupid law. The consensual age all over the United States should be at the very least 16 years old. And as mature as girls are now, 15 can even be adequate. Now, if it's not consensual, the perpitrator needs to be arrested. But everyone knows how smart and mature are girls are.

There is a MAJOR difference between a sex offender verses a person who gets caught having sex with a 15 or 16 year old FRIENDLY girl. Teenagers are NOT the same as they use to be and know more today about sex than I ever did at their age, it is sad to think that girls are putting out more than ever just for attention. If parents would realize their teens are just to blame at times for sexual relationships there might not be so many teen pregnancies and there should be something the teens have to do for punishment too. Too many young teenage girls are getting away with murder when it comes to having sex and blaming it on the one over age.

I think if any of you ever worked a con you would not talk so freely. They act just like normal people, but like common sense. They will try and trick you in a min. I worked some at the St. Prison, that you would want them for your Daddy I guess, but they are hard core inside. We just dont have enough Police to do the job. I think the good Cops are doing the best as they can as if you dont know it is a evil world out there. Thanks To all Law enforcers from a person who really understands. Good luck God bless & be safe. There is crazy people running the streets & I want you all to come home safe to your family tonight & the rest of your time spent running these bad boys/bullies. THANKS

How do you find out if you live by or near a sex offender?

Posted by freedomwriter (not registered) on Aug 15, 2009 11:40 PM

WOW reading the posts reminds how ignorant people are.
NOT everyone on the list is a child molester or rapist. Yet as you can read in these posts everyone on the list is considered exactlly that. Well that and a SICKO. And therein lies the problem with these laws. Not only do they trample our constiutions but they contain thousands of people that arent dangerous at all but have to suffer the stigma from ignorant people that know no better.
Missouri in particular is guilty of this by making no differentiation between the felony and misdemeanor. All must follow the same rules for LIFE. Whst the point of having different laws and convictions? In Missouri they are all treated the same. Might just as well have one law called sex crime and it be all encomapssing for everyone. That is exactlly what they do with the sex offender registration.

I know a guy who was eighteen and the girl seventeen and he was sentenced for molestation, convicted served time and now has to live with his name being listed as a sex offender. I think that is unfair. She was the one coming on to him. But her family thought they were special. Girls lived and married much older men when they were only fifteen or youger. I don't think someof these laws are fair.

I know a sex offender that is a cop? i would like to know how and why that happened. I will get down to the bottom of this. And he works for Calcasieu parish

Posted by shaken up (not registered) on Aug 07, 2009 03:28 PM

Well today I found out there is a warrant for my son and he is charged with felony carnal knowledge. The girl lied about her age and also saw him over a year. her parents approved til they found out the age difference she was 16 he was 20. I think it is crazy when a girl is 16 or older they should be held accountable for some things. She can lie and trick people she also has a fake id. I believe when a person consents to it and does it more than once that they should not be able to press charges.

I am a sex offender who met a chick in a bar room and come to find out she was under age, but yet i'm viewed as a predator, how is that really fair.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Jul 10, 2009 02:21 AM

My husband is a sex offender in which 14 years ago he slept with a minor and her parents found out about it and accused my husband of rape, even though it was very much mutual he still was found quilty and now has to register as a sex offender. I just think the laws need to apply to REAL SEX OFFENDERS!!! My husband and I have three kids, jobs, a home, and a great life, but this having to only live in certain places and having to register is a problem in everyday life, its hard to find landlords who understand situations like my husbands.

Time will catch up with you ,street justice will get you when you least expect it you cannot hide in Texas or behind your job!

Posted by anonymous (not registered) on Apr 14, 2009 10:21 AM

most of yall may not have known this but if you give a child a beer or if u have a cooler and its filed with ur beers and a child sneaks one and cops come around u will get thrown in jail and have to register as a sex ofender because they say that u tried to suduce them now I realy don't think the laws are fair and I think they go over board with the sex ofender crap! they have some sex ofenders that done such stupid crap and now have to register. the court told them to register as a sex ofender but they can be around kids because the are of no harm to kids. so I fel every one needs to learn facts before judging people because one of these days it could be your children. because they have children as sex offenders and im talking about 12 year olds!!

I have been trying to access the registry for the last two days and have been unable to get it. I was assaulted by an ex-boyfriend who broke my ankle. He then fled the state to Louisiana and I am trying to help the police find him so they can extradite him.

Posted by Oldtimer on Aug 25, 2008 11:07 AM

I know of a sex offender in Tangipahoa Parish-Tickfaw, Louisiana, who is not on this web-site. His name is Willie P of Woodhaven Road.

He pleaded guilty. Someone is not doing their job by getting these offenders on this web-site when they should, or someone hasn't registered as they should. I would hate to think they are given time to register. After all, we aren't given notice that our loved ones or children will be their next victim.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Jul 30, 2008 11:17 AM

I think if we had better detectives in grant parish they would have already caught the guy stalking the little girl on airbase rd in pollock!Protect ur family your self dont depend on them.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Jun 03, 2008 01:18 AM

I think that all sex offeneders should not be allowed to have access to the internet,

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on May 15, 2008 03:17 PM

i really hope that the new bill on juvinile offenders doesnt change cause i live in calcasieu parish and judge c*****is a piece of crap and will just give him the opportunity to let more off like he does now

If you have a case with a particular member of the court system that you know is not acting in the best interests of the public, go to the COPWATCH website and report it. There are all kinds of law enforcement and justice system people reported there who have over stepped their bounds and committed crimes. It is s database to keep track of this stuff. There are law enforcement people who post and read it also so its a wake up call to them when things are reported around the country.Take a look, you will be amazed at what really goes on with these people.

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Apr 18, 2008 06:33 PM

If the most heinous of crimes are not enforced then why even worry about the least crimes be enforced?

A. Adams has been in violation of his registration responsibilities for over a year now. S. Hebert is in charge of keeping in contact of these pedifiles, on which she has lacked greatly. Even with specific people and numbers to call she still did not enforce her duty as to protect the community she took an oath to protect. Who is going to stand up and fight to have these laws enforced?

Posted by Hex on Jan 07, 2008 09:40 AM

They do not even post hafe the Preditors, and Offenders that (Truely) offend hafe the time, they will not post that either, even if we think it would help. They are only in it for what they see is justice, or fair to them not in the vic... eyes, or the ones being falsely accused as well. In my own thoughts I think the States systems are ass backwards, and things really do need to change. I can not tell you how many of the same people we arrest, and re- arrest, and it makes it hard on the Police as well, esp... if nothing gets done. Hex

There should be a Registry for Murderers, Drug Dealers, and Drunk Drivers - it would make our community even SAFER- and its our right to know this also!

Posted by Anonymous (not registered) on Oct 22, 2007 10:02 AM

i think that the laws in vermillion parish for sex offenders are not followed at all !!!!

Did you know?
While drugs and alcohol are often involved in sexual assaults, drugs and alcohol do not cause sexual offenses to occur. Rather, drug and alcohol use may be a disinhibitor for the offender, while being under the influence may increase a potential victim's vulnerability.
