I am so glad that everyone has access to this site. We people with children have the right to know who is living next door to us! I was shocked at how many child molestors lived in my neighborhood and I talked to my kids about it.

I was a little shocked to see that several of these registered offenders live on Church Street in Newington. Doesn't anyone realize that there are 2 schools right off Church street????? Schools that my children attend!

I think that it's great that they let people know where these people live so that children can be warned. It is a little scary seeing how close by a lot of these people are. You would never think in Newington that there would be people like this but I guess they are every where.

Is this link down?

I would like to see better photos. I have read that this is being addressed. It would be better if these people were sent to live on an island together and they can harm each other instead of other people who know better

I'm sorry that the feelings of the "innocent" Registered Sex offenders feelings are hurt because they are being mistreated or their privacy is being violated. Unfortunately our "justice"SYSTEM IS HUMAN AND THEREFORE FRAIL and a few are labeled wrongly. But please understand if I work hard and get to leave a crime ridden neighborhood and move to a "nice, safe, clean" where my children can be children; Im glad to know there are tools I can use to use to help me determine where I want to live "feel safe". LIFE ,LlBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS belongs to THE MORAL MAJORITY.

The reg... is nice, but no matter where you live you always have to be carefull of the friends, and familys your children hang around with. Even the family members in your familys as well. You as a parent can try to do what everit takes to watch, and be protective, but honestly no matter nhow great of a parent you are, things can happen. You just have to hope it does not, because speaking from knowledge, It's a long battle with the State, and they will lye to you to make you think things will happen when in all honesty they may not, or do not, or will not happen as they come accross, or state to you as the parent. Just make sure you and your children have a open com... level and that they know they can come to you about everything, or anything that was your aware, if something was to ever happen. you should be able to punch in your zip code and see all the offenders, pictures and all within a 20 mile radius .My town only lists one but you know there are others nearby. Your site needs to be updated and more user friendly.

What makes everyone assume these offenders are pedophiles? When people hear the word sex offender, they automatically associate it with a crime commited on a child, which is not always the case. When I was 16 yrs old and my boyfriend was 18 yrs of age, my parents got him for statutory rape. When I turned 18, we were married. Now, 19 yrs. and 4 children later, my husband must register as a sex offender. Is he? Absolutely NOT! Now our children are humiliated every time one of their friends' parents look on the registry and see his name. I'm tired of having to explain my personal life so that my children can keep their friends. There really needs to be some changes made as to really needs to be on the registry.

Its great that this list exists. But I know 3 people on this list who have been royally screwed. I understand the need for giving people information on dangerous people...but the question is at what cost? This really needs to be examined. By the way, why isnt there a registry for murderers?

Posted by Oldtimer on Oct 09, 2007 09:21 AM

murder? Our sick society deems that you can kill a child and not have to register. You can sexually offend and "Plea bargain" not having to register. You can be a sexually dysfunctional congressman and not have to register. Go figure.

Do not believe everything that you read I know someone who has to be on the registry because he was forced by prosecution to take a plea bargain. They told him that if he did not that they would make sure that his case would not go to trial for at least 2 more years after fighting for a year while in jail. We have the proof that he is innocent but the prosecution does not care. Look up the S.A.I.D. syndrome.

S.A.I.D. Syndrome: go here: http://www.allencowling.com/false14.htm

Thanks for bringing this up. I had never heard of it, but it may explain some of the cases mentioned on this "offenders" site.

Get a grip people. Not everyone on the registry is a rapist and/or child molester!

i do appericate this site for letting us know who lives in our neighborhoods. But i am in an unfortunate sitution, i found out that my son's father is on this site after we had our son and broke up. i wonder do they ever think of their own children before they do any of this ??? i talk to my sons all the time about people like his father. It's just upsetting that now my son will have to understand and deal with this for the rest of his life.

Ha!Ha! The ignorance shines through and through! Investigate your own selves! Get to know people! The registry does not show ALL the bad people in the world! And take character into consideration! OOh! if you believe that everyone on the sex offender registry is a threat, then you are IGNORANT!!!! Learn before you speak!!! And I am not an offender FYI. You people are so dumb!

Connecticut General Statutes 54-250 through 54-261 mandate that the Connecticut Department of Public Safety establish and maintain a central registry of persons who have been convicted of certain sexual offenses and are required to register under the general statutes. They have the site but nothing is said that it must be operational, does it?

This is ridiculous - I'd rather live next door to a lot of these people that someone who was previously arrested for buglary, selling drugs to kids, or murder, but we don't have a registry for any of those, why for sex offenders though? Why not a registry for either all crimes or for all of those considered likely by the parole board to re-offend. Or, everyone could automatically be on the list then petition after independent psychological testing showing they aren't a predator to be removed.

I am glad that we got a website like this so we know who is living in our neighborhood and so we can protect are children.

I went out with someone on the registry. He was on there because he was seeing someone that lied about her age and now he as to pay for it with the rest of his life. Its not fair did anything happen to her for lying of course not. Thats the crime.

I was checking the registry and I found out that a sex offender lives like right up the road from my house and his conviction was risk of injury to a minor. A lot of kids live in my area. Not good.
