I can't believe people can actually think of looking beyond someone's crime against a child. Any crime against a child is unforgiveable.

Forgive? 3 of my daughters have been sexually abused by their father and grandfather. Their father has never been charged due to the lack of cooperation on my oldest daughter's part (fear). The grandfather received 5 yrs probation and 8 days of shock time. My children will suffer and have problems the rest of their LIVES. We are supposed to forgive? The molester moves on with their lives as if nothing ever happened. This makes me SICK. The victims suffer for the rest of their LIVES.

Forgiveness is one thing.....forgetting is impossible. Yes people make mistakes everyday, unfortunately the people who decide the punishments for these mistakes when they involve rape or sexual abuse are in many cases dealing with their own demons and make unfair decisions. Many, many people are wrongly accused and sentenced and many are guilty who never see punishment. That is the biggest problem with the justice today. There is no fair justice, just greed, money and punitive punishment irregardless of innocence or guilt.

"All are punished" Offenders who get away with offending are the only ones not punished (IMO). Offenders who are placed on the registry after serving their time are double punished. Remember, many offenders are victims of sexual and physical abuse also. Abuse leads to abuse. Sad, this.
