These people should be treated like lepor, they shouldnt even be out, they should be gathered up and put on an island with no food or water we all know people like this re-offend it's only a matter of time. At least we have this site as a firtst response to view to keep our kids safe from these demonised animals further more I am repulsed at the women on here as well!!!

Protective Mother who posted in June sounds like a person who has not done any research before she posted. Putting a sex offender on an island without food and water? We tried something like that, or close to it! The 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry who were shipped to remote locations in the Western and Midwestern U.S. for up to five years because we were afraid they would spy on us.

I really don't know what this country is coming to that we feel we can violate peoples' consitutional rights and privacy because we want to keep children safe. Breaking the Bill of Rights to provide "safety" for children is going to put us all at risk. You don't believe the politicians are noting how their registry laws are being supported by the general public? If it can work for sex offenders, it could work for ANY group of people. Look at Hitler: first propaganda, then public humilation, then restrictive laws, then violence and finally banishment and death! Protective Mother and others who support Megan's Laws: doesn't your island for sex offenders sould an awful lot like Auschwitz, Dachau, Bergen-Belsen, Treblinka and others?

hello all you haters. Look do you even realize how hard it is for people after they have been branded? My HUsband , was convicted of having sex with a 17 yr old consentually , and that gave him a sexual perdator label . So for the rest of our lives we have to reigister and listen to you heartless people with no decency. Untill my husband is dead , thats how long , we will be pointed at , and people will; assume things. We can't attend some churches and rasie our children the way we want to , with a christian atmosphere, all because when he was 25 , he thought some girl at 17 was cute . THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE!!! HE GOT 4 YEARS! Some things in life aren't fair. Like my family not being able to visit. Or where we can live and can't. What ever happened to the world my parents and grandparents lived in , they had the same stuff back then. but not as much heartache. I hate our governor and the new immpossiable rules he has made. I really wish i didn't live in land of the fake and mistrusting. Your all good in untill your on that other side of the fence, then the truth attracts your eyes, once you see that , you never look back to the lies

There are more than 100,000 unregistered sex offenders in the U.S. There are many organizations that keep track of registgered sex offenders, but we need more resources locating and holding accountable those offenders who are not registering as they are required to do. This is why organizations like HALO (haloagency.org) are so important.

This is my first time visiting this website and I read all of the comments that everyone made and they were very interesting. First off let me tell you that I have worked with kids for the past 7 years at my job and at church and I also have a son who is 7. I read the comment made by the woman who husband was convicted when he was in his 20's it is sad to hear if that is what happened but at the same time understand why people are so angry with sexual offenders and why we ask for very strict laws and consequences. One reason is because these offenders are very dangerous because as doctors will tell you there is no cure or rehibilitation for these people.

I think this web page is good but it's not enough. These scum bags should be in the news paper everyday. These men are not wired right, they are defected and should not be able to roam society freely, too dangerous. When they abuse a child, that child is ruined for life and will become an animal themselves. They should be shipped to a deserted Island to fend for themselves. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, they don't put up with this sh*t anywhere else in the world, why should the USA?

I'm happy there is a free site that gives us information on this animals. This site is great because it offers mug shots and where they are
living. Next time when i move I will check the area. I don't think is fair that some people are getting away and not registring.I love this site !!!!

As you can see this is why we should close our borders to all To the north, south, east, and west.

Raping a defenseless child whether an infant who cannot physically defend itself or a 17 year old who cannot mentally defend herself is hardly in the same league as a foreigner giving out government secrets.

Speak to victims of this type of abuse. Speak to law enforcement who are often first on the scene to witness the damage and then tell me how unfair it is for these people to be listed on a website for the rest of their lives.
How about what the victim has to live with for the rest of his/her life?

I think the bill of rights and constitution should remain intact but once you infringe on someone else's basic rights yours become null and void. Why does the predator have more rights than the victim? Like Aushwitz and all of the horrid places named - these people should be lined up and gassed.

I am 17 now but back when I was molested I was only five. He was just put in jail a couple of years ago for what he did to me. He will get out when I am around 30. He was 20 when he did this to me and I wish he could have gotten the death sentence. Sexual preditors are horribe and can never be fixed. They should rot in prison. If I could I would shoot him today because when i have my own family I am going to have to worry if he would come after them or me. I am going to have to do so much to protect myself and that is not fair. I will stay a victim for the rest of my life. I think that the death sentance should be leagal and all sexual preditors should be sentanced to death so matter how "severe" it was. They are all equally wrong and shouldn't be allowed to live.

I am sorry to hear of your plight. I feel pretty confident that this person will not come after you or your future family. He will be under today's offender laws which will keep him busy. Talk to the local police about your fears before he gets out and have an order to keep him away put in police files. As for your situation (IMO) I suggest you have therapy to help you deal with your anger. You do NOT have to play the victim or put yourself in a position where you live like a victim. Some states now have free clinics you can use to deal with these issues. Never say you want to kill anyone. It puts you in a bad position if something happens to the guy (IMO) Hopefully, you can realize that this incident was NOT your fault and you can put your life back together as soon as possible. Life has alot to offer you in my opinion. Good Luck

Please be sure that you do all you can to protect yourself now. If you actually got a conviction - at least they are on your side for now. No
one knows who will reoffend. Even the experts don't know for sure who
will be a sexual predator and who just took advantage of a situation.

A 17 yr. old girl is date raped. She is drinking with an 18 year old and isn’t in any condition to fight him off. She tells a close friend about the situation. Ashamed, she is afraid to tell her parents. They were telling her he was trouble, a bad influence on her and had tried to keep her away from him. The 17 yr. old is having suicidal thoughts and starts cutting school. She is grounded for four months only being allowed to go to school and work. Her parents send her to counseling. This girl meets a college guy she thinks she can trust. She is still reeling from the date rape and tells him. He tells her to report it. She wants to. He's been
taught rape is rape no matter what the circumstances are – if a girl says no she means no.
She is hesitant, but with his assurances that it’s the right thing, she contacts two local police departments who both tell her she doesn’t have a case, (no witnesses, no injuries and no parents to back her up) the police tell her to get more counseling. She goes to all the rape websites, even the state sponsored one – they all detail what happened as date
rape and sexual assault. Why the indifference by the police?????
Someone needs to investigate how much this is happening.
Meanwhile the alleged rapist starts bragging about this incident. Apparently he has done this before and he tries to RUIN HER reputation before she can do anything about it. He carries a baseball bat and airsoft gun in his car as he heard some other people are coming after him for former behavior with other girls.
The college guy takes two other kids with and goes to look for the alleged rapist to talk to him. One of the otherkids steals a pistol from the college guys house and shoots at the rapist's car. No one is hurt.
The college kid, the driver did not even know the gun
was in the car until they were on the road. They get arrested, all charged
initially with 2nd degree assault – a felony which allows forfeiture of the
college guys car. All this because no one wanted to listen to the victim.

Three months after the arrest:
WHAT’S HAPPENNING TO THE GIRL? No one is listening. She went to the police department with a rape advocate to file charges. The officer taking the report (according to the report by the advocate) actually snickers while listening and then adds his opinion that he wouldn’t consider it a violent rape. The alleged rapist starts to harass her by stopping in at her part time job just so she sees him and then writes a threatening note on her car window. Her employer puts her on security
alert, has her park near the front door and escorts her to and from her car.
She dyes her hair to try to change her appearance.
He knows where she lives, works and goes to school. She is really scared. Her parents install a new security system on the house to protect the family. The store security reviews the security tapes that show him
in the store and the parking lot. He also sends in some shoddy friends to try to intimidate her also seen by security.
They give her a security radio to call for help if any of them try to talk to her. Her dad tries to get a restraining order but he is told she will have
to wait for him to try to physically assault her! Meanwhile the rapist
is still posting on his My Space that he is feeling smug and has purchased
a pistol. Now the Prosecutor has subpoenaed the girl to testify against the nice guy for the prosecution. She has to sit in the court room looking at her alleged rapist while he is treated like a victim. Can justice really be so blind?

One person takes immoral liberties with another and in one night the repercussions ruin 4 lives and alter forever the lives of three families.
This kid thinks he really got away with something. Where do serial rapists
and repeat sexual offenders begin?

THE UNHAPPY ENDING TO A TRUE STORY A TOO POWERFUL PROSECUTOR.

The kid who fired the gun fled the country and is not being extradited no point the County Attorney says.
The driver who originally went out with nothing more in mind than talking to the kid who was bragging about the rape finally came up for trial.
The week of the trial he came up to Minnesota ill and after going in for test to check for a blood clot on his lung he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
No problem the trial is scheduled for the next day. To make a long story short he pled guilty to a drive by shooting so the girl who was raped would not have to take the stand for the prosecution
facing her rapist in the court room with him playing the victim. How could she possibly be a victim again? Also the college kid was sick his family had been dragged through a terrible year and they had all been through so much already that he put himself at the courts mercy.

The Hennepin County Prosecutor got what she wanted. It’s obvious that the prosecutor and the parole officers control the court.
He has one year in jail 5 years probation and a 10 year felony conviction. All in a days work for the Hennepin County Prosecutor. Just when the judge tried to show some leniency remember this kid has no record whatsoever and make it an imposed sentence so the violation
would revert to a misdemeanor after five years – the prosecutor objected wanting to make sure his life is in ashes for 10 years. Hennepin County doesn't believe in second chances for good people. He took responsibility for the incident not like the kid who fled. He expected some punishment losing his car was really bad – going to jail is bad - he wasn't afraid of probation because he is a good kid
but the 10 year felony record. This was a kid who wanted a political career.

All this because someone might have gotten hurt that night if things had turned out differently.
No mention of the fact that someone did get hurt by the alleged rapist. This girl lives in fear everyday that when she decides to proceed with the charges he will come after her again. Now tell me that sexual abuses
are being prosecuted. Not in Minnesota!

All parties involved in this - the police, prosecutor and the parole officer all now that this started with a date rape situation.
A rape happened but they are all looking the other way.

You realize we have empowered the alleged rapist in all this. The alleged rapist has seen everyone who wanted to see him held accountable, crucified by the very people who were put in place to protect and serve.

This college kid had NO record. His best friends include two kids in the military serving in Iraq a police academy student a prison guards son the son of a Fortune 500 vice-presidentand a self mad millionaire
all of whom have never seen an outcome like this.

He got written letters of reference from a Carlson Professor a Financial firm president, a Normandale Professor the rape victims father (a published writer)a Fortune 500 Vice President. These are people who have known him for years. All of that counted for nothing. The word of the prosecutor and a probation officer who spoke to him for an hour were used to decide the sentence.

And a rapist walks away free.

i understand that a person that has been convicted MUST register. i live in KY and our registry shows picture, age of victum and charge. i look at this...if it's rape or sexual abuse of a child, what a sick man/woman. not that i am defending rapists, but i just think there have been alot of times a woman has said she was raped by man when in fact, she was just trying to hurt him by putting him away. not that this always happens, but people, it does happen. instead of critizing these so-called rapists, ask them their story first. i know this happend before and ruined a person's entire life. he went from successful to nothing, all because "she" couldn't break up "his" marraige and cried rape.
