Green Bay, Wi recently passed this same law. Unfortunately they failed to add the victims address to the list of places sex offenders are banned from living near. My niece was repeatedly molested when she was 5 years old. When her attacker was released from prison, he moved 6 blocks from her house. As usual.....the victims rights were never considered.

After reading all the comments posted on this subject I felt compelled to add my own. First off, it's been proven over and over again that deviant sex offenders can not be rehabilitated. Now I'm not talking about the 20 year old guy who had consentual sex with his 18 (16) year old girlfriend. I'm talking about a person who willingly goes out to "hunt" down another, in order to violate them. Especially children! When is society going to see that we have to start rating crimes on a violence scale and then punishing accordingly? If we know that no amount of counseling or prescriptions or rehabilitation is going to help sexual offenders, why let them out in the first place? The prisons are busting at the seams but why should a sexual offender be any different than a murderer? Only difference I see is that murder victim got to go to heaven.....the sex offenders victim has to live hell on earth for the rest of their lives. I guess all you defenders of these criminal sicko's have never been or never had a loved one who was sexually abused. If so, I doubt you'd be so quick to defend them. They made a choice and now have to live with the consequences of their actions what ever that might be....public ridicule, jail time...whatever! I'm glad to have this web site. If we cant keep 'em in prison, the public needs to be informed!

Did you know?
While drugs and alcohol are often involved in sexual assaults, drugs and alcohol do not cause sexual offenses to occur. Rather, drug and alcohol use may be a disinhibitor for the offender, while being under the influence may increase a potential victim's vulnerability.
