Ok my niece was molested by her own father since she was a little girl, her mother came forward, and my sister in law was awarded custody of the child. The molestation took place in arkansas, but they had moved out of state to Iowa where is was reported. This is what troubles me alot, the judge looked at him and said the crime did not accure in Iowa and let him go free. PEOPLE WAKE UP, THIS IS WHY VICTIMS DO NOT COME FORWARD. I am one of those victims that would rather let it go, than suffer from the embarrasment and watch a the person who did this to me go free. There is no justice for victims

I guess when the constitution was being written, there wasnt sexual abuse like there is today or atleast no one was talking about it. I also assume that justice was a bit swift and they didnt feel the need to make laws for such a criminal act and that a simple hanging from the gallows would do.

There needs to be specific laws protecting victims for assualts, with stiffer penitalies. I would like the all the states to come into an agreement to make it into fedrel law that if you are convicted of a sex crime that you will have a tattoo placed on a person with the crime and the age of the victim. Since there is no cure for the abuser, than they should not be able to enter into society without a known mark about what they have done.

Child abuse is a world wide epidemic, but the reason for it becoming an epidemic is because they know that they can abuse a child but get a slap on the wrist for doing so, and they are willing to take the chance.

Dont get me wrong, I dont believe and eighteen year old should be charged with sexual assualt on a seventeen year old as long as it is consentual. Im talking about the sick SOB's that touch children and mentally incompetent people.

In final i will say this, unless we can put forth into a effect a law that would hold states responsible for proscuting abusers no matter where the crime accured as long as there is sufficent evidence showing that indeed a crime had been committed.
