There is little doubt that issues exist regarding the increase in sex offenses being committed and reported. Victims should be protected, especially children. But having a bunch of politicians passing laws by fear is dangerous and protects perhaps only their election results. Unlike the other movements that remained physically passive, and politically incorrect, the sex offenders tend to be more aggressive. We have to many people creating laws that will only force either individual SO's or groups underground and trigger the mental mechanisms for retaliation. As for a solution to ending the B.S. and in my opinion a more viable cure is chemical blindness..."You can't hurt, what you can't see." We obviously can't fill the prisons, the woodlands, or isolated areas of America, but there are ways to control the situation. If this sexual attack on our nation continues we will lose far more than our trust in liberty, Justice and what's left of the American way. On the other hand, we should work together for the good of all and create an incentive for Sex Offenders to seek help and then give them an opportunity to prove their worth. Perhaps we are seeing a prior generation coming to age that wasn't allowed to address the issues that could have prevented the consequences of abuse that happened to them, it is very obvious to me that the magnitude of offenses occurring today are a result of the unending circle of abuse. So, if they are willing to change, I support that and they should be allowed. The other issue at hand is the parents...they need to be held responsible when a child is left in harms way by neglect. We don't need more laws, we need open minded solutions and the ability to purge our nation of this immoral crime.

If ever there was a time America has been weak and vulnerable surely its today. In recalling what Nikita Khrushchev stated to President John F. Kennedy, that not to worry about the Soviet Union attacking the United States, because the U.S. would destroy itself from within. This is exactly what is happening today. I read a book in 1983 entitled "The Rise of the Anti-Christ" by Salhem Kirban and without a doubt the information he wrote about is prevalent today. Even is depiction of equating the computer mathematically to 666. My point isn't a religious one, but an indication that we are letting sex destroy us. We are failing to take control and fight the causes of these sex crimes. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize the epidemic taking place throughout our nation is a social menace. Then unfortunately we have politicians using sex crimes and the offenders as an instrument for re-election or political gain. Stereotyping all sex offenders into predators is ignorant and defeats accomplishing the reality that attacking the enemy such as child porn, adult perversion on the Internet, and media in general that triggers the mental mechanisms for individuals that probably would never have given thought to it. Our government should be looking for solutions to the root of these offenses, what and why they are happening. The right and liberties of all citizens should be protected. People in general are worth saving, so let's find a solution for destroying the root of these crimes and putting an end to the sexual terrorism. Our government should provide a path to recovery other than ineffective treatment centers. Realistic goals and incentives for rehabilitation to offenders, equal to drug & alcohol rehab. Sex Offender Registration, residency laws, create a dangerous precedence as these are types of rejection. If you ask an offender what they feel, most just want a chance to redeem themselves and be accepted into society. Condemnation comes easy in the United States, but forgiveness has been lost. This is no longer the land of the free, with over Two million incarcerated. Remember this...crime is business at taxpayers? expense. Think about what might be causing sex offenders to do the crime. Once we eliminate the cause we save our people. A Nation that is unwillingly to forgive is condemned.

From all that I've read Kentucky is taking a common sense approach to dealing with the registry. By that I mean, they do realize that sex offenders have been in our communities since their incorporation. The subject is similiar to an open wound because of recent media coverage and this being a political year. My hope is to someday see a resolve that protects our children and society as a whole. We as a society, are constantly reminded of all the evils present today, but there really not new. Perhaps we should pool our resources and begin to research the root(s) of sex offenders' crimes. Then by eliminating the cause, or at least addressing it, we can find a resolve through appropriate justice. Creating several facilities that handle strictly sex offenders and give an opportunity to stop before creating a crime. Give incentives for proper behavior, but on the other end of it, for those who refuse to cooperate then chemical blindness..."You can't hurt what you can't see" A bit extreme, yet protecting children and society warrants a legal resolve.
