Ex-Prosecutor Pleads Guilty In Teen-Sex Case

NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) ― A former New York prosecutor has admitted in court that she had sex with underage boys.

Beth Modica of Sloatsburg pleaded guilty Friday to statutory rape for having intercourse with a 16-year-old. She also pleaded guilty to criminal sex acts for having oral sex with him and with a 15-year-old boy.

Rockland County Court Judge Catherine Bartlett has promised the 44-year-old Modica a sentence of two years in prison and 10 years of supervision.

Modica was an assistant district attorney in Rockland and in Queens. She is the estranged wife of the Spring Valley police chief, Paul Modica.

She was also accused of sex abuse and of joining teens in booze and pot parties. She could have been sentenced to 16 months to four years in prison if convicted at trial.
